Robert Baker
Former Hedrick resident, Robert N. Baker, 63, of La Verne, Calif., died at 2:45 a.m. Dec. 11, 1985, at the Pamona Valley Community Hospital in Pamona, Calif.
He was born Jan. 3, 1922, at Higland(sp) Center to Noel and Zua Bottorff Baker. He was a resident of Hedrick until 1955 and has been a resident of La Verne, Calif., for the past three months. He married Margaret Watts on May 20, 1944.
He is survived by his wife, of La Verne, Calif., a daughter, Kathleen Stephenson of La Verne, Calif.; a son, John of of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren; his mother, Zua Baker of Ottumwa; six brothers, Bill of Ottumwa Route 3, Jim of Kirkville, David, Roger and Jerry of Ottumwa and Dick of Roscoe, Ill.; and five sisters, Jane Baker and Jean Galpin of Ottumwa, Jo Anne Tortat of Keosauqua, Mary Helen Davis of Centerville, and Beverly Coleman of Hedrick.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Stanley Reiley of the First Church of God officiating. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery in Highland Center.
Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established to the American Heart Association in care of Victoria Yetley, 1332 N. Elm, Ottumwa.
