Dorothy Elaine Carr, 59, of 219 S. Moore died at 5 p.m. Nov. 19, 1985, at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in Milton to James C. and Eva B. Lancaster Cassat. She married Billy Gene "Bill" Carr on July 8, 1947, in Memphis, Mo. She lived in Milton before moving to Ottumwa in 1928. She worked for Northerwestern Bell Telephone Company for 10 years and, since 1956, was her husband's partner and co-owner of Carr's 66. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Bill David of Oskaloosa; two daughters, Vickie Cottrell and Teri Carr, both of Ottumwa; four grandchildren; her mother of Ottumwa; a brother, Jim Cassat of Ottumwa; and two sisters, Mary Bowers of Davenport and Doris Pickens of Bloomfield.
The service will be at 1:30 today at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Stauffer of the Church of the Brethren, assisted by the Rev. Gerald Dunham of the Church of the Open Bible, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Elton Fisher, Doug Boyd, Jim Gaskill, Raymond Palmer, Donnie Kirkendall and John Stemple. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Erwin, Harold Hinkel, Garry Albright and Jim Shipley.
A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.
