FERN ELLIS MELOY

Fern Ellis Meloy, 85, of Casey, California died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 1985 at Burnsides Nursing Home in Marshall.

Funeral services were at Greenwell Funeral Home, Casey, with the Rev. Kim Soon and the Rev. Kenneth Plummer officiating. Burial was in Ridgelawn Cemetery.

He was born December 13, 1899 in Conway, Iowa to Charles F. and Julia Ellen Hutchings Meloy. He was married May 9, 1931 to Lucille Claypool.

He was a retired Superintendent of Schools in Marengo, Iowa. He also served as Superintendent at Bonaparte. He was a graduate of Kidder Institute, receiving a BA degree from Missouri Teachers College and his masters degree from the University of Missouri.

Surviving are his wife, Lucille; a daughter, Judith Howe of Twenty-nine Palms, California; a sister, Maxine Green of St. Joseph, Missouri; and two grandchildren.
