MORAVIA - James L. Russell, 93, of Moravia died Dec. 10, 1985, at Centerville Care Center.
He was born April 8, 1892, in Tipton County, Ind., to Jacob and Delilah Russell. He married Florence Austin on Dec. 16, 1915, in Princeton, Mo. She died in 1983. He was a farmer.
He is survived by two sons, James of Keosauqua and Bill of Covena, Calif.; five daughters, Katherine Sharp of Moravia, Barbara Shank of Bellevue, Neb., Marjorie Fisher of Covena, Calif., Doris Donica of McCall, Idaho, and Mary Wood of Kansas City, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Orlie of Corydon. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, the Rev. Lowell Hoyle officiating.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the Geyer-Turner Funeral Home in Moravia.
