Clyde Edgington

Clyde Arthur Edgington, 69, of Osceola Died Dec. 22, 1985 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 20, 1916 in Davis County to Allen and Minnie Williamson Edgington and lived in rural Milton during his youth, later moving to Ottumwa. On Sept. 28, 1945, he married Helen Patricia Dyke and was employed as a mechanic for Bruce Motor Freight in Des Moines until becoming disabled.

He is survived by his wife; six sons, Wayne of Ovett, Miss., Gary of Osceola, Clyde Jr. of Colfax, Daryl of Dallas, Texas, Rick of New Virginia and Ronnie of Florida; two daughters, Sheryl Ann Stout of Osceola and Sandra Pfeiffer of Cincinnati, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild; three sisters, Wilma Bales and Pauline Stafford of Ottumwa and Ruth Green of Blakesburg; and a brother Dale of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Vern and Bernard and an infant son Carroll Dean.

Services were held Dec. 26, 1985 at the Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Rev. Clifford Haider officiating. Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.
