JOHN R. FORD

John R. Ford was born December 4, 1921 at Perry, Iowa and departed this life Monday, July 15, 1985 at his home in Douds at the age of 63.

He had lived in Perry, in Keoauqua, and the past 20 years in Douds.

Surviving are his wife Florabelle; two daughters, four step-daughters, Naomi Patterson, Green Valley, Arizona, Sandy Murray, McAllen, Texas, Karen Salter, Des Moines and Mary Cohenour, Fairfield; five stepsons, Dean Cox, Des Moines, Ronald Cox, Des Moines, Ronald Cox and Marvin Cox, both of Davenport, Larry Joe Cox, Chadron, Nebraska and Bill Cox, Douds; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother.

John served in the United States Army during World War II and was an inspector at American Chain & Cable Co. in Fairfield until retiring two years ago.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 19, 1985 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds with Dr. Chris Daniel officiating. Interment was in Leando Cemetery. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
