FREMONT - Gretchen E. Bell, 75, of Farley died the morning of June 18, 1985, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.
A former resident of Kilbourne, Fremont and Ottumwa, she was born May 4, 1910, near Kilbourne to William and Julia Gilbert Lyons. She married John S. Bell. She had worked in the meat department at Hy-Vee and Benner Food Stores in Ottumwa.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, William of Farley and John S. Jr. of Fremont; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mamie Carlton of Birmingham; and her mother of Keosauqua.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in the Kilbourne Cemetery.
