Raymond Moore

Services for Raymond E. Moore, 61, who died July 5, 1985 at 8:30 a.m. at University Hospitals in Iowa City were held Monday, July 8, 1985 at 2 p.m. at the Stockport Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Butt officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham with military rites conducted by Stockport American Legion Elvin e. Cecil Post No. 147.

Born January 2, 1924, at Birmingham to T.E. and Julia Douds Moore, Moore lived his entire live in the Birmingham Stockport area. His marriage to Dulcy H. King took place April 27, 1946, at the home of her parents in Birmingham.

Moore was an air conditioning and refrigeration service and repairman for many years. He was associated with M & N and later M & W Refrigeration. He and his wife owned and operated the Moore Nursing Home in Stockport for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and a member of the Stockport Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter Phyllis Stark of Lander, Wyo.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Moore of Birmingham and William Moore of East Peoria, Ill.; and his mother Julia Moore of Stockport. He was preceded in death by his father.

Burch-Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Stockport Christian Church.
