Stanley M. Davis, 77, of Clinton died August 30, 1985 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

He was born oct.(typo) 24, 1907, in Keosauqua to George and Mary (Mate) Davis. He married Janet Barker May 18, 1940, in Keokuk. Mr. Davis graduated from Keosauqua High School 1926 and moved to Clinton in 1940. He worked as an electrician for Central Steel and Tube Company for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Jon of Clinton; a grandson, Devin; one niece, Delores Cudworth of Ottumwa; and one nephew, Elbert (Dave) Davis of Carmel, California.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

A memorial has been established for Center Chapel.

A funeral service was held Sept. 3 in Clinton. The Rev. Richard T. Hohl, First United Methodist Church officiated with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Clinton.
