Lloyd Carpenter

Lloyd W. Carpenter, 76, of 817 S. Milner died at 11:30 a.m. March 4, 1985, at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.

He was born Aug. 15, 1908 in Denison to Clarence and Hettie Cooksey Carpenter. He was an Army veteran of World War ii and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Marguerite Wagner on April 7, 1963, in Eldon. She died June 27, 1981.

He is survived by two brothers, Clarence of Cantril and John of Cedar Rapids, and two sisters, Dorothy Black of Woodbine and Daphne Jeffery of fort Wayne Ind.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Paul Hart officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military rites by the O.B. Nelson Post of the American Legion.

Visitation is open.
