BATAVIA - Former Richland resident, Helen L. Brown, 58, of Batavia died Feb. 16, 1985, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

She was born Dec. 10, 1927, in Jefferson County to Lloyd and Lavonia Bodden Dickinson. She married Lawrence Brown on May 27, 1951, at Richland. She graduated from Richland High School and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority in Fairfield, the Packwood Methodist Church, Legion Auxiliary of Richland and the World War I Barracks of Sigourney. She taught school for 25 years in Libertyville before retiring in December 1984.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Kelda Brown of Dayton, Ohio; and three brothers, Charles and Harold Dickinson of Birmingham and Nial Dickinson of Dublin.

The service was held Monday at Packwood Methodist Church. Burial was in Halferty Cemetery at Ollie.

Gould Funeral Home of Richland was in charge of arrangements.
