WALTER EDWARD BREWER

Walter Edward Brewer, 74, of Farmington, died Saturday, March 9, 1985 at 1:05 p.m. at his home, rural Farmington.

He was born February 1, 1911 at Troy, Iowa, the son of John F. and Della Henderson Brewer.

He married Ruby Mae Jury on June 14, 1952 at Farmington.

He spent his childhood in Van Buren County, Iowa and Clark County, Missouri. He was a mechanic.

He retired after 23 years service in the Army Air Force having served in England, Germany, North Africa and Greece. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge AF & AM No. 27 at Farmington and the 32nd Degree Scotish(err) Rite.

Surviving are his wife; one step-son, Jewell E. Jury of Farmington; three step-daughters, Doris M. Robinson of Parma, Ohio, Vivian M. Lawyer of Des Moines, and Llewellyn J. Balster of Marion, Iowa; one brother, Johnnie Brewer of Keosauqua; two sisters, Nora Zollars and Mae Brewer, both of Keosauqua; 15 grandchildren, Neil Robinson, Anne Robinson Turner, Leigh Robinson Church, Carol Jury Knight, James Jury, Mary Jane Jury Dodds, Joseph Jury, Timothy Jury, Robert Jury, Michael and Steven Lawyer, Vern, Martha and Jane Balster; and eight great-grandchildren, Stuart Jury, Brian Robinson, Jason, Lesli and Kari Jo Jury, Kaitlyn Dodds, Tyler Jury and David Knight.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The service was at the Sharon Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 1985. Robert Hambright officiated. Burial was in the Troy Cemetery. The body was at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, where Masonic rites were Masonic rites were held Tuesday at 7 p.m. Memorials to Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge, Farmington, may be left at the funeral home.
