Maye A. Cazey

Maye A. Cazey, 78, 1215, 23rd Street, Fort Madison, formerly of Farmington, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 22, 1985 at 11:50 a.m. at the Burlington Medical Center. She had been in failing health seven months and seriously ill for two weeks.

She was born Oct. 11, 1906 at Coppock, Iowa, and had lived in Fort Madison since 1968.

On May 5, 1928, at Gary, Ind., she was married to Chester R. Cazey, who died Sept. 6, 1979.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Betty) Kirkhart, Cantril, and Mrs. Allen (Irmadean) Melrose and Mrs. Eunice Hammond, both of Fort Madison; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Smith, Brighton; and seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and four step-greatgrandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill. Her parents were August and Ellen Van Trump Volger.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 1985, at the King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison. Robert Hambright of Farmington officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fort Madison.

A memorial was established. Contributions may be sent to the family.
