Clarence B. Linn

Clarence B. Linn, son of George and Alma White Linn, was born Jan. 28, 1900 near Cantril and died early the morning of Sunday, March 31, 1985 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua, where he had resided the past three years. He was 85 years old.

On Nov. 5, 1921, he married Mary K. Garrett at Keosauqua. She died in 1966. A daughter, Barbara, two sisters and two brothers also preceded him in death.

Remaining are two daughters, Nella Mae Robbins, Mt. Zion and Maxine Bowermaster, Fairfield; two sons, Orris of Keosauqua and Clarence of New Windson, Ill. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a sister, Ruth Burgess of Keokuk, other relatives and friends.

He had farmed, been Keosauqua's night watchman, worked at the Barker Plant and the Keosauqua Post Office.

Clarence was a veteran of World War I, a charter member of Beer-Barker Post 113, American Legion and a charter member and past commander of the World War I Veterans Barracks.

He was a Methodist.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 3, 1985 a 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Dennis Fox officiating. Interment with military rites by Beer-Barker Post was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. A memorial was established and gifts may be left at the funeral home.
