Berdena Standley Orr

Berdena Evelyn Orr, 76, passed away at the Marion Health Center, Sioux City, Iowa, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 1985. She had been in failing health for one years, seriously ill one month. A former Fort Madison resident, she had been living at the Cherokee Villa nursing home in Cherokee for the past several months.

She was born Oct. 8, 1908 near Stockport. She was the daughter of George and Fairie Harlan Standley. She had been a resident of Fort Madison from 1936 until last October when she moved to Cherokee.

She had been a stenographer at the W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co., retiring in 1973. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Fort Madison, the Business and Professional Women, and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son, William S. Orr of Cherokee; a brother, Harlan Standley of Cedar Falls and three grandchildren and a niece.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 1985 at the Barr Memorial Chapel in Ft. Madison with the Rev. George Harris officiating. Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery at West Point.
