Lottie M. Sammons

Lottie May Sammons, 87, of 1001 Lincoln, Mt. Pleasant, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at her home.

She was born Dec. 11, 1897, at Rome, to Joseph and Alice Collins Messer. She married Clem Sammons on Dec. 22, 1915, at Mt. Pleasant; he died Sept. 5, 1957. She was a member of the Rome Baptist Church.

Surviving: Four sons, Virgil, Oral, Clem Jr., and Gerald, all of Mt. Pleasant; four daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Cecil) milks, and Mrs. Robert (Esther) Rouse, both of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Claren (Hazel) Garrison, New London, and Mrs. Kenneth (Wanda) Gill, Fairfield; 30 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; five brothers, Allen Messer, Cairo, Mo., Max, Farmington, Basil, Fairfield, Noel, Moline, Ill., and Ralph Messer, Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Palliser, Farmington, and Mrs. Ruby Adams, Olds.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday, Beatty Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, the Rev. Earl Swigart; White Oak Cemetery north of Rome.
