Ada L. Schlotfelt

Ada L. Schlotfelt, 87, formerly of Keosauqua died Friday, Feb. 8, 1985 at Coralville.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home, with the rev. Douglas McGraw officiating. Services were also held at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Auburn Methodist Church, Mt. Auburn, Iowa, and burial was at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

The daughter of Merton T. (Bert) and Florence Andrews Keith, she was born June 6, 1897 near Delhi, Iowa, in Delaware County.

She was married to Harry J. Schlotfelt, Dec. 25, 1919, at Spearville, Kan.

Mrs. Schlotfelt had lived at Wild Cat Den State Park for a number of years before moving to 812 Pine St., and then to Coralville.

She worked at the Maid Rite No. 1 from 1952 until she retired in 1970. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Rebecca Lodge and past president of teh American Legion Auxiliary at Keosauqua.

She is survived by one son, Donald R. Schlotfelt, Cortez, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Ross (Adalene) Bellinger, Muscatine, Mrs. G.R. (Harriett) Dean, Coralville, and Mrs. Ellis (Bev) Billingsley, Muscatine; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Kenneth Keith, Colorado Spring, Colo., and a sister, Mrs. William (Marjorie) Janousek, Dodge City, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, one daughter and two brothers.

A memorial has been established at the funeral home.
