ADELIA H. NELSON

Adelia H. Nelson, 75, of Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua, died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, January 20 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital.

The daughter of Carl and Hilma Magnuson Beckman, she was born October 1, 1909 in Michigan. She made her home from the age of five with Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Nylen in Wheaton, Minnesota.

She married John Elmer Nelson and they lived in Wheaton. He died in 1968. A son, James, also preceded her in death.

Surviving are a daughter, Shann Williams of Keosauqua with whom she had lived for several years; a son, John E. Nelson of Shokan, New York; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Annete Harstead and Agnes Nyquist and a brother, Conrad Beckman, all three of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Mrs. Nelson was a registered nurse.

She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and its ladies aid society, American Legion Auxiliary and Federated Women's Club, all in Wheaton, as well as professional nurses associations.

The body was taken from Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, to Ranney Funeral Home, Wheaton for services Wednesday, January 23 at 11 a.m. in her church. Burial will be in the Wheaton cemetery. Local memorials may be left at Pedrick Funeral Home.
