CHARLES HARNESS

Charles (Chuck) Harness, 73, formerly of Bonaparte, died Saturday, February 9, 1985 at 9:45 a.m. at the Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown.

Born February 5, 1912 in Alexandria, Missouri, he was the son of Stonewall and Susan Russell Harness.

He married Edith Easter in 1940 at Kahoka, Missouri. He lived in Keokuk, New London and Bonaparte and had retired from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant after serving 26 years as an electrician. He was in the SeaBees in World War II and saw foreign service in the Tokyo Bay landing. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife Edith; one daughter, Mrs. James (Karla) Clemenson of Littleton, Colorado; and two granddaughters.

The funeral was held Tuesday, February 12, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington. Burial was in Vale Cemetry, Bonaparte. The Rev. James Rozendaal officiated.

The family received friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. A memorial was established to Alzheimers Disease.

Charles (Chuck) Harness

BONAPARTE - Charles "Chuck" Harness, 73, Bonaparte, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the Iowa Veterans Home Marshalltown.

He was born Feb. 5, 1912, at Alexandria, Mo. to Stonewall and Susan Russell Harness. He married Edith Easter in 1940 at Kahoka, Mo.

He was an electrician at the IAAP where he retired after 26 years of employment. He was a member of the Christian Church. He was in the Seabees in World War II and took part in the Tokyo Bay landing.

Surviving: His wife, Edith; one daughter, Karla Clemenson, Littletown, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington, the Rev. James Rozendaal officiating; Vale Cemetry, Bonaparte. A memorial has been established to Alzheimer's Disease.
