Joseph E. Williams

Joseph Edward Williams, son of Archibald and Amelia Randall Williams, was born Jan. 6, 1910 at Mount Zion and died the morning of Friday, Feb. 1, 1985 in the emergency room of Van Buren County Memorial Hospital following a heart attack suffered earlier in the morning at his home in Keosauqua.

On April 3, 1938 he married Lillian Ramsey at Memphis, Mo. They lived in Ottumwa, in California and in Burlington and moved to Keosauqua ten years ago. Joe was a retired security guard.

Remaining are his wife, Lillian, a son, Steven of Burlington, a step-daughter, Lila Hegland of Cedar Rapids, nine grandchildren and a great grandson. Also surviving are two sisters, Jennie Teeter of Ottumwa and Florence Sellers, Onalaska, Wisconsin, other relatives and friends. Two brothers, Charles and Gene and two sisters, Blanche and Hazel preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in California.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 4, 1985 at 11 a.m. in Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Bob Patterson officiating. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
