Ruth Glassford

OSKALOOSA - Ruth Glassford, 80, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 11:33 a.m. Nov. 22, 1984, at the Mahaska Manor in Oskaloosa.

She was born Dec. 1, 1903, at Douds, to Charles and Retta Roush Kunzman. She lived in Ottumwa most of her life until 1970 when she moved to Oskaloosa. She married Ira L. Glassford on Dec. 24, 1925. He died Sept. 5, 1969. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alfred.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Morrow and Louise Riley, both of Oskaloosa; three sons, Jim of Oskaloosa, Don of Eddyville and Sam of New Sharon; and 13 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

The services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Clay Rogers of Belle Plaine officiating. Burial will be at Leando Cemetery in Leando.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society in care of Florence De Buhr, 3 Carter Court Lane, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501. The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
