Stanley M. Evans

Stanley M. Evans, 76, of 3215 Columbia Street, Des Moines, died of a heart attack on Tuesday, June 12, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Services were held on Thursday, June 14, 1984, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, and burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Douds at 3 p.m.

Mr. Evans was born in Douds the son of Robert and May Roush Evans. He lived in Des Moines for 55 years. He was a retired produce manager for Simpson Super Value Grocery and a member of Union Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Helen, the former Helen Crawford of Douds, one son, Jack of Prairie City, three daughters, Joann Cochrane of Sioux City, and Lou Jean Evans, and Judy Baily, both of Des Moines, his mother, May Miller of Fairfield, four sisters, Leta Swank of Boone, Leona Sidwell of Douds, Evelyn Young of Ankeny, and Roberta Teeter of Fairfield, a brother, Jasper Evans of Des Moines, a half brother, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Memorial contributions were made to the Union Park United Methodist Church.
