Gregory P. Becker

Gregory P. Becker, son of Carl and Lavern Newell Becker, was born Jan. 4, 1958 at Booneville, Mo. and died early Sunday, Aug. 12, 1984, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Keosauqua.

Greg and his family lived in West Branch and West Liberty, Iowa before moving to Van Buren County in 1972. He graduated from Van Buren Community High School in 1976.

On Aug. 17, 1979 he married Kimberly Benge at Keosauqua. She remains with their three year old son, Jason, Greg's parents of rural Keosauqua, two brothers, Kevin and Don and a sister Rochelle, all of Keosauqua. Also surviving are grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Becker of Boonville, Mo., a great grandmother, Mrs. Ida Ivy of Glasgow, Mo., other relatives and friends. A son, Geoffrey, preceded him in death.

Greg was a member of the Baptist Church at Downey, Iowa.

He was a truck driver of Umthun Trucking Co.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 15, 1984 at 10 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Center Chapel Cemetery southeast of Keosauqua. Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
