Clara Bell Manary

Clara Bell Manary, daughter of Creighton C. and Doris Bell Peterson, was born Dec. 23, 1917 near Mt. Sterling and died on Friday, July 13, 1984 in Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas, at the age of 66.

She graduated from Keosauqua High School and was a legal secretary in Keosauqua. She married Keith Manary of Fairfield and they operated a sporting goods store there for a number of years.

Remaining are three sons, Greg of Yuma, Ariz., Doug of Livingston, Texas and Kim of The Woodlands, Texas and seven grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Lillian Mitchell of Edmonds, Wash., and two brothers, Howard Peterson of Las Vegas, Nevada and Harold Peterson of Arlington, Washington. She was a member of the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church.

The service was held Wednesday, July 18, 1984 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church, with Rev. Charles Butler, pastor officiating. Interment was in Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling. A memorial was established for the Cancer Fund and gifts may be left at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
