KEITH EDWIN LINGENFELTER

Keith Edwin Lingenfelter, 69, died at his home in Red Bluff, California on June 22, 1984.

He was born April 18, 1915 near Bonaparte the son of Fred J. and Marie McComb Lingenfelter.

Keith was a graduate in history of the University of California at Berkeley in 1937. He enlisted in the Army in September 1942, served two years with the 11th Weather Squadron at Anchorage, Alaska and was discharge in June 1945. From 1946 to 1971 he was employed by the United States Weather Bureau at Red Bluff.

Keith's avocation was genealogy. He was the author of numerous family histories. In 1983, the California Conference of Historical Societies presented him with an award of merit for his distinguished contributions to California history.

He is survived by his mother; a sister, Mrs. Lyle (Mildred) Williams; twin brothers, Clare and Cecil; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, George. Local survivors include Mrs. Helen White and Harold McComb.

Funeral services were on June 26, 1984 with interment in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff.
