Worthie J. Arnold

Worthie J. Arnold, daughter of Linford and Theresa Barker Sherod, was born Nov. 6, 1890 near Mount Zion and died Tuesday, March 27, 1984, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua at the age of 93.

On April 26, 1911, she married Alva Arnold in Fairfield. He died in 1957.

Also preceding her in death was a sister, Weltha Wolf.

Remaining are her son, Hollis and his wife Kathleen of rural Keosauqua, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Arnold lived in the Moun Zion community until moving to Keosauqua in 1962.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and active in its work as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, 1984 at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Charles McCracken of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Miller Chapel Cemetery northeast of Keosauqua. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials to her church or the Cancer Fund may be left at the funeral home.
