MAY MATHESON

May Matheson, daughter of Charles Wesley and Julia Starr Wiley, was born April 10, 1896 in Keosauqua and died early Thursday, Feb. 16, 1984 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua at the age of 87. Her life was spent in the Keosauqua community.

On Jan. 8, 1914 she married Grant Matheson. He died in 1956. Also preceding her in death were four brothers.

Remaining are her son, Donald and his wife Aileen of Keosauqua, a grandson Dean Matheson and his wife Beverly of Liberty, Mo., two great grandchildren, Jamie and Jodi Matheson and a brother, Stanley Wiley of Cantril. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 18, 1984 at 3 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua.
