Elmer Spencer

Elmer Spencer, son of Isaac Newton and Stella Gibson Spencer, was born May 17, 1897 at Pittsburg and died the morning of Monday, Dec. 3, 1894 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 87.

Remaining are a sister, Bessie Dietzman of Keosauqua, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A sister, Ethel Anderson preceded him in death.

Elmer's life was spetn in the Pittsburg-Keosauqua area. His active life was spent farming he remained in the family home enabling his mother to live there and cared for her during her last illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 1984 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Louise Spears officiating. Interment was in Pittsburg Cemetery.
