Karen Moyer DeGeare

Karen Moyer DeGeare of Elsberry, Mo., a former Birmingham resident, died on Jan. 9, 1984 at the Firmin Desloge Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

She was born on Jan. 8, 1944 in Fairfield to Forrest T. and Rosalie Davisson Moyer. She spend her girlhood days in Birmingham where she attended the Birmingham Public School. The Moyer family lived on Cedar Street, better known as Quality Avenue, in Birmingham during the 1950's. Then the family moved to Elsberry, Mo., to make their home there.

Karen was married to Bob DeGeare on July 17, 1977, who survives. Other survivors are: two sons, David and Donnie Preston, her parents, a sister, Debra Palmer, a brother, Danny Moyer, all of Elsberry and three other brothers, William F. Moyer, and Mike Moyer, both of Cape Girardeau, Mo., two step daughters, Tammy Boedeker and Kimberly DeGeare, one stepson, Bobby DeGeare, all of Elsberry.

Services were held at the Miller Funeral Home in Elsberry with burial at the Elsberry Cemetery.
