LELA A. HARRYMAN

Lela A. Harryman, daughter of Jacob and Angeline Rambo Shaffer was born June 13, 1897 south of Douds and departed this life Sunday, January 29, 1984 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield at the age of 86.

On August 26, 1917 she married Harvey H. Harryman. They farmed south of Douds until retiring to Keosauqua in 1963. Mr. Harryman died in 1974. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Elwood and Russell, three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie Porter, Fairfield and Jennie Stump, Ames; a son, Warren of Rock Island, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Lela was a life-long member of Christ United Methodist Church and was active in its work as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31, 1984 at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with Rev. Gerald Caughron officiating. Interment was in Leando Cemetery. A memorial was established.
