Mary M. Brooks

Mary Maude Brooks, daughter of William and Clarabelle McDowell Ewart, was born Aug. 17, 1902 in Henry County, Iowa and died Sunday morning, March 11, 1984 at her home west of Mt. Sterling at the age of 81. On Jan. 4, 1938, she married Martin O. Brooks in Keosauqua. They farmed in the Birmingham and Mt. Sterling communities. Mr. Brooks died in 1976. A sister, Myrtle Livix, a baby sister, and a brother, William Ewart also preceded her in death.

Remaining are a sister, Della Brooks of Kahoka, Mo., a niece, Virginia Brammer, five nephews, Norman, Joe, Leon, Dan, and David Ewart, several great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 14, 1984 at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Interment was in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.
