GOLDIE F. FISHER

Goldie Floy Fisher, daughter of William C. and Mary Holcomb Strait, was born October 25, 1890 in Van Buren County and departed this life the evening of Friday, November 30, 1984 in the long term unit of Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, at the age of 94.

She graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1909 and taught school for 10 years.

ON April 24, 1919 she married Clarence W. Fisher in Milton. He died February 10, 1965. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Helen Ardis Barker, two brothers, Lee and Sam Strait and two sisters, Faye Roush and Chloe Price.

Surviving are a son, Lloyd of Bloomfield; two daughters, Mavis Stookesberry, Milton and Mary Louise Short, Milton; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mildred Campbell, Keosauqua.

Mrs. Fisher lived her life in the Lebanon-Milton area. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Milton American Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 3, 1984 at 2 p.m. in Grace United Methodist Church, Milton with Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery. Pedrick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials to the Lebanon Cemetery may be at the funeral home.
