THEODORE R. ANDERSON

Theodore R. Anderson, 78, died Friday, January 20 at 12:25 p.m. at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua after being admitted that morning for treatment of an extended illness.

Born March 10, 1905 in Wichita, Kansas, he was the son of William H. and Hila Davis Anderson. He was married to Irene Batterson, who preceded him in death. He married Veda Lenz Cox, June 29, 1974 at the Birmingham Presbyterian Church and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Judi Jones and Jeri Peterson, both of Avon, Illinois; two grandsons; one great-grandson; three step-daughters, Veda King of Milton, Donna Hornberg of Keosauqua and Marjorie Barnes of Danville; 10 step-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Hoyle of Colona, Illinois and Geraldine Houseal of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

Mr. Anderson was a member of the Birmingham Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau. He farmed and also worked for 15 years as maintenance supervisor at Parsons College.

Services for Mr. Anderson were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 1984 at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial was (Maple Hill Cem.).
