RICHARD C. LOSEY

Richard C. Losey, 43, of Farmington, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, December 11, 1983 of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Losey was apparently stricken while chopping down a Christmas tree about a mile west of Farmington.

He was born October 28, 1940, at Kahoka. He had spent most of his life in Farmington and was employed as an inspector at the Fruehauf Corporation plant in Fort Madison. He had previously been a barber in Farmington. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farmington and a member of the Actioneers Club of Farmington. He also served on the Farmington City Council.

On November 20, 1960, at Farmington, he married Shirley Himes, who survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ida Shriver Losey of Farmington; three sons, Kent Allen, Rick William and Michael Scott, all at her home; a brother, Larry Losey of Farmington; and two sisters, Mrs. Mel (Ruth) Vornkahl of Keokuk and Karen Losey of Jacksonville, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ross William Losey.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 1983, at the Farmington United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Rozendaal officiating. Burial was in Center Chapel Cemetery, rural Keosauqua.

A memorial is being established for the family. Contributions may be made at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Fairmington.
