MARTHA R. DAVIDSON

Mrs. Martha R. Davidson, age 83, passed away at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. Her home was at 1218 Ave G. in Ft. Madison but more recently she had been making her home with her daughter near Stockport. She had been ill for several weeks.

Mrs. Davidson was born June 27, 1900 near Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Frank W. and Olive Crawford Ranson. Her marriage to Phin R. Davidson took place in 1918 in Hillsboro. They were engaged in farming in the Hillsboro and Stockport communities until they moved to Ft. Madison in 1942. Her husband died in April, 1959.

Martha was a retired employee of the W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co. She was also a member of the First Christian Church of Ft. Madison, The Royal Neighbors of America and the Rebekah Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother Rollie W. Ranson.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 at the First Christian Church in Ft. Madison with the Rev. William Kennedy officiating. Burial was at the Hillsboro cemetery. The King-Lynk Funeral Home was in charge of services. Memorials were to her church.
