RAYMOND ESTON THOMAN
Raymond Eston Thoman, age 60, died at home in Montrose, Iowa, December 6, 1983 of a heart attack.
He was born in Scotland County, Missouri May 25, 1923, the son of Fred and Florence (Huston) Thoman.
He married Ethel (Hill) Douglas on October 8, 1949 at Kahoka, Missouri.
Since moving to Montrose, he was manager of a lumber yard in Keokuk for several years. He worked on construction for Rose Brothers and Bes Construction. The last several years, he has been self-employed as a carpenter.
He is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Pope of Montrose; three stepsons, Robert Douglas, Lagoona Beach, California, Donald of Keokuk, and Bill Douglas of West Liberty; his father, Fred Thoman of Cantril; two sisters, Waneta Cole of Montezuma, Iowa and Clella Mae Morris of Bonaparte; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, mother, one brother and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. December 9, 1983, at Schmidt-Vigen Funeral home at Keokuk with Rev. Kenneth Royer officiating. Burial was in Montrose Cemetery in Montrose.
