Harlynn E. Beatty

Harlynn Edmund Beatty of Belleville, Ill., 61, passed away suddenly on Oct. 7, 1983 on his acreage near Mt. Olive, Ill., of a massive heart attack.

He was born to Linn and Nellie
Mechem Beatty on Nov. 10, 1921 near Selma. They preceded him in death. He graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1939 and from Iowa State College in Ames in 1949 with a degree in Electrical engineering.

Harlynn was a retired corrosion engineer at M.A.C. Headquarters at Scott Air Force Base; a member of F.F.W. Post 7983 of Trenton, Ill., Illinois Society of Professional Engineers, Scott Field Post of the Society of Professional Engineers and an Army Veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Seibel; three sons, Ronald Beatty of Edwardsville, Ill., Dale Beatty of Minneapolis, Minn. and Dr. Dean Beatty of Belleville, Ill.; a step-son, Stephen Mitchell of Belleville; a daughter Carol Atell of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Shirley Craig of Milton, Iowa, Eleanor Strait and Winona Johnston of Keosauqua, Iowa. Four grandchildren also survive, Eric Axtell, Benjamin and Sarah Beatty and Kelly Mitchell.

Funeral services were held Oct. 11, 1983 at Renner Funeral Home in Belleville and burial was in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville.
