Virgil E. Barnett

Virgil E. Barnett, 74, resident of Stockport, died at 8:15 a.m. Oct. 27, 1983 at the Ottumwa Hospital. He was born August 15, 1898, at Brighton, the son of Earl E. and Flora Maitlen Barnett.

He married Dorothy Tobin on August 2, 1930, at Rockland, Michigan.

Mr. Barnett had been employed at Louden Machinery Company in Fairfield for 15 years until his retirement in 1973.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Stockport.

Surviving are his widow Dorothy, two sons, Robert, Stockport, and Jack, Manitou Springs, Colorado; a daughter, Elaine Harrington, Irving, Texas. Other survivors include four grandchildren; and two brothers, Cloyce, Loveland, Colorado; and Carroll, Longmont, Colorado.

Services for Mr. Barnett were held on Saturday, 2:00 p.m., Oct. 28, at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with Rev. Richard Devore officiating. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

Masonic services were held Friday at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home and visitation was 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation.
