SPENCER Q. MORRIS

Spencer Q. Morris, 82, of Stockport died Wednesday morning, October 19, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. He was born November 14, 1900, in Van Buren County, the son of Arthur and Belle Veatch Morris. He married Elsie Douglas, who died October 27, 1980. Mr. Morris was the last of the children of Arthur Morris who with his brother John, donated the land and built Morris Park near Stockport.

Surviving are one daughter, Selma Poole of Stockport, two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Services were held Friday, October 21, at 2 p.m. at the Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham with Rev. Richard Devore officiating. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery at Stockport.

Memorials have been established to the Stockport Library or Stockport First Responders.
