PEGGY WASHAM

Peggy J. Washam, daughter of Harold and Mae Lawson Tweedy, was born March 11, 1931 near Douds and departed this life Tuesday, September 20, 1983, at Boca Raton Community Hospital in Boca Raton, Florida at the age of 52.

On July 20, 1949, she married William Eugene Washam in Harrisburg, Illinois. They lived in Fairfield and California and moved to Florida in 1970.

Surviving are her husband; four daughters, Terri Washam and Jody Washam of Boca Raton, Bobbie Somerville, Huntington Beach, California, Kelly Washam, Deerfield Beach, Florida; a son, William E. Washam, Boca Raton; and three grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Jack Tweedy, Des Moines and Don Tweedy, San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Susan Carter, Irving, Texas, Pat Hemmie, Fort Madison, and Mary Lou Todd, Des Moines.

Peggy was a member of the Spanish River Presbyterian Church in Boca Raton.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 26, 1983, at 1 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds.
