ANNABELL SMITH

Annabell Smith, daughter of Dallas and Althea Woodard Jones, was born November 19, 1911, at Logan, Ohio. She died Monday evening, September 19, 1983 at University Hospitals in Iowa City at the age of 71.

On November 25, 1927, she married Wayne E. "Tad" Smith in Gary, Indiana. They lived in Buchanan, Michigan before moving to Fairfield in 1977. They then moved to Keosauqua in July 1983.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Thomas of Fairfield and David of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter Thelma Jones of Statesville, North Carolina; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two brothers, Robert Jones of Gary, Indiana, and Melvin Jones of Houston, Texas. She was one of a family of nine children whom six preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield and had attended the Keosauqua Christian Church since moving there.

Services will be Thursday, September 22, at 2 p.m. in the Keosauqua Christian Church with Pastor Bob Patterson from the First Baptist Church, Fairfield, officiating. Interment will be in Fellow's Cemetery, Keosauqua. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21 from 7-8 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua. Memorials for either of the two churches may be left at Pedrick's.
