Mildred L. Hayes

Mildred L. Hayes, daughter of William and Sylvia Cunningham McNatton, was born March 10, 1910 at Columbus Junction, Iowa and died Friday, August 5, 1983 at her home in Douds at the age of 73.

In 1945 she married Carl W. Hayes. They lived in the Troy, Selma, and Milton communities and had lived the past six years in Douds.

He remains with their two sons, Thomas and his wife Connie of Libertyville and Frank and his wife Linda of Farmington, their daughter, Pamela Besco and her husband Ron of Ottumwa, six grandchildren, a sister, Myra Garwood of Jonesboro, Ill., other relatives and friends. A sister, Mabel Mink and an infant son, Jerry, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hayes was employed a number of years at Fairfield Glove Co. and later at Douds Cafe. She was a former Girl Scout leader and will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 8, 1983 at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment was in Leando Cemetery, Douds.
