Doris Davidson

Doris O. Davidson, daughter of Roger and Georgia Fray Kittle, was born July 2, 1897 in Keosauqua and died Sunday, June 26, 1983 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua at the age of 85.

On June 23, 1928 she married Wayne R. Davidson in Keosauqua. They had both been employed at Harbidge Motor Co. and later bought the business and oeprated many years as Davidson Motor Company selling Ford Motor Co. products. Wayne died in 1981. Two sisters, Vinnie Kittle and Phyllis Sherod also preceded her in death.

Remaining are a brother-in-law, Joe Davidson of Sigourney, a niece, Twila Lane of Stockport, eight nephews, other relatives and friendds.

Doris was a long-time member of the Keosauqua United Methodist Church, a fifty-year member and Past Matron of Lynds Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

A life-time resident of the community, she was active in the business and social life of Keosauqua over a long period of time.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 29, 1983 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Dr. Louie Spears, United Methodist pastor officiating. Interment was in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua.
