Lawrence Clayton Klicker

Lawrence Clayton Klicker was born Dec. 31, 1923 in Ottumwa to Frank E. and Gladia McBride Klicker. He passed away June 4, 1983. Mr. Klicker was a lifetime farmer and former John Morrell employee for 20 years. He spent most of his life in Wapello and Van Buren Counties.

On June 28, 1942, he married Opal Wilburn, who survives. Born to this union, a son, Max Arlen of Portland, Oregon; Shirley Ann Luko of rural Mount Pleasant and Connie Lou Pearce of Milan, Ill. Also his daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law with whom he was very close. His pride and joy was his four grand-daughters and two grandsons.

He also leaves one brother Karl of rural Bloomfield, three sisters, Evelyn Armstrong of rural Bloomfield, and Mavern Swaim of rural Batavia and Mildred Swaim of Geneseo, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother.

Mr. Klicker was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Davenport Consistory. He also leaves several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Priester Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 1983 with the Rev. Marilyn Butler bringing the message. Burial was at Troy Cemetery.
