ARTHUR K. HAMLETT

Arthur K. Hamlett, son of William and Lillie Kerr Hamlett, was born November 13, 1907 near Mt. Sterling and departed this life Tuesday, April 19, 1983, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua at the age of 75.

On January 7, 1932, he married Marjorie Huff at Kahoka, Missouri. She survives. Also surviving, son, Jo and daughter-in-law Hazel of Mexico, Missouri; two granddaughters, Laura Bail and Linda Jemison; and five great-grandchildren. A daughter, Joyce Ilene Thomas preceded him in death.

Art was employed many years by the Van Buren County Highway Department, retiring as county shop foreman in 1970. Most of his life was spent in the Mt. Sterling community.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 12, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Interment was in Harness Cemetery near Mt. Sterling. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, was in charge of arrangements.
