RUTH A. STEWART

Ruth A. Stewart, 85, of rural Farmington passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 1983 at 8:15 a.m. at the Clark County Nursing Home, Kahoka, Missouri.

The daughter of Robert and Agnes Samples Vencill, she was born at Galt, Missouri on June 26, 1897.

She was united in marriage to Hugh Stewart on March 29, 1914 at Laredo, Missouri and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1966.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Veva Oilar, rural Farmington, and Mrs. Bertha Mae Christy, rural Revere, Missouri; a granddaughter, Margaret Ann Krebill, rural Donnellson, whom she raised; one sister, Mirth Mueller, and a niece, Virginia Pierson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 23 grandchildren and a number of greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; one daughter, Shirley; three sons, Robert, George and Billy; a grandson, Mark Allen; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ivans Stewart and a son-in-law, Hugh Oilar; two brothers and one sister.

She moved to the Anson Community in 1933. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 6, 1983 at 2 p.m. at Shaffer & Sons Funeral Home, Kahoka, Missouri with burial in the Greenglade Cemetery, Farmington. The organist was Brenda Chappotin with Jeff Munford and Amber Warner singing the musical selections. Pallbearers were Trent Hobbs, Dale Gorham, Lewin Davis, Don Dietrich, Charles Pirotte, and Michael Dolan.

Memorials may be made to the Shepherd Children's Home. Shaffer & Sons Funeral Home, Kahoka, Missouri was in charge of arrangements.
