Wayne D. Septer

Wayne D. Septer, son of John and Marie Ann Murphy Septer, was born June 2, 1918, near Salem, and died Wednesday, March 16, 1983, at his home in rural Mount Sterling, following a lengthy illness at the age of 64.

He moved with his family to Missouri, and on Sept. 20, 1939, he married Valera Hebing at Chillicothe, Mo. They lived near Trenton, Mo. and Salem, and in the Mount Sterling community since 1952. Mrs. Septer preceded him in death in 1980. Also preceding him in death were one infant son, one grandson Rickey Wayne Septer, and three brothers, Pearl, Roy and Lloyd Septer.

Remaining are two sons, Don and Mickey of Mount Sterling, a daughter, Valera Ann Nordyke of Bonaparte, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Watson and Viola Cook, both of Salem, and Elsie Elliott of Winfield; four brothers: Harold of Des Moines; Paul of Montezuma, Iowa; Orville of Trenton, Mo., and Arthur of Dixon, Mo.; and other relatives and friends. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, a good neighbor and friend.

Services were held Friday, March 18, 1983 at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Rev. David Hoffpauir officiating. Interment was at Harness Cemetery near Mount Sterling. A memorial was established for the Cancer Fund.
