DONALD R. GUNN

Donald R. Gunn, 55, Fort Madison, died at 7:30 a.m. January 11, 1983, at his home. He had been in failing health since 1976, serious the past six months.

Mr. Gunn was born September 26, 1927, in Fort Madison and was a lifelong resident. He was a project engineer with the Fruehauf Corp. and a former Santa Fe railroad employee. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He married Marjorie Bishop in Fort Madison in February 1950. On March 16, 1977, in Fort Madison, he married Jean Wilmesmeier Reed, who survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ruth Gunn of Fort Madison, a son, David Ray Gunn of Keokuk; three daughters, Gail Stout of Oxnard, California, Mrs. Ron (Gloria) Stout of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mrs. Bill (Gwen) Reno of Keosauqua; four grandsons; two step-daughters; a brother, Thomas of Bonaparte; two sisters, Mrs. W.R. Fahey of Des Moines and Mrs. Donald Hoenig of Fort Madison and six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Gunn.

The funeral was held January 13, at Barr Memorial Chapel with Reverend Anthony Labedis and Elder Charles Gunn officiating. Burial was in Soldiers' Circle of Oakland Cemetery.
