Humphrey Bowman

Humphrey E. Bowman, son of Charles A. and Elmira Good Bowman, was born Jan. 8, 1900 at Mount Sterling and died Wednesday, March 9, 1983, at Coldrow Care Center, Olathe, Colo., at the age of 83.

He married Emma Bernice Anderson at Los Angeles, Calif. She passed away in 1953. Also preceding him in death were a brother, Emmett Bowman and a sister, Gertrude Gwinnup.

Remaining are a son, Gregory, of Olathe, a daughter, Mary of Portland, Oregon, and a sister, Edna Ross of St. Louis, Mo. Also surviving are five grandchildren, a great grandchild, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bowman spent most of his life in the Mount Sterling community, where he farmed and operated a trucking service.

He will be remembered as a devoted father, a good neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, 1983 at 11 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with Rev. Charles Butler officiating. Interment was in Harness Cemetery at Mount Sterling.
