Gordon L. Bishop

Gordon L. Bishop, son of William M. and Anna Arnold Bishop was born Feb. 21, 1912 near Keosauqua, and died March 13, 1983 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua.

He graduated from the Cantril High School. On July 3, 1940, he married Edna McEldowney in Memphis, Mo. Mrs. Bishop preceded him in death in 1978.

Gordon was a member of the Cantril Christian Church. He was a long time employee of Hohl & Hohl Implement Co., and Hendrick's Equipment Inc., of Keosauqua.

Remaining are one sister Evelyn Waldren and her husband Barney of Keosauqua; two brothers, Harold and his wife Vivian of Corydon, Iowa, and Ivan and his wife Joanne of Keosauqua, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Services were held Thursday, March 17, 1983 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with the Rev. Bob Patterson officiating. Interment was in Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua. A memorial was established for the Keosauqua Senior Citizen's Center.
